Rushton Industries was established in 1920. From 1920 to 1985, the firm established itself as a leader in heavy construction. The company specialized in the power, chemical, steel, beverage, auto and manufacturing industries.Contracts were performed nationwide for companies such as Dupont, Ford, General Motors, Pittsburg Plate Glass, TaTa (India’s largest corporation), Disney, Firestone, U.S. Steel, American Can Co., Reynolds Aluminum, 7 UP, Frito Lay, Phelps Dodge, Con Edison and Baltimore Gas and Electric. In addition, a subsidiary Rushton Crane Company, operated a fleet of heavy construction equipment well known throughout the Eastern United States. From 1985 to present Rushton has been involved in real estate development, acquisitions and management. Rushton has acquired and manages a portfolio of commercial real estate consisting of office, retail, industrial and warehouse properties. Some tenants include the New York Times, Pepperidge Farms, American Express, Tastykake, State Farm Insurance, Karcher, Sybron and TCI. On the development side, projects have been completed including commercial, residential and mixed use. A list of recent projects is available. Rushton is currently expanding its focus to include Multi Family Development, Brownfields and Urban Infill Sites.
